This family had moved to the country into a house larger than the city pad they moved out of. First they wanted colortoned walls, then furniture, then window coverings, so we had a chance to help them with all three. Be sure to see the full set of photos. What to do with pink formica? Find out!!!

To increase the coziness factor, Paula suggested a rich medium brown in the living room / dining area / central hall. Given the expanse of white on the cathedral ceilings, she advocated for a light sandy color there to help ground the space and reduce contrast that occurs with white ceilings and medium to dark toned walls.

The Hutleys were so pleased with the final results. We coached them on all furnishings and the very chic solar mesh shades. These shades retain the view when down and cut heat and UV infiltration. The next phase is to add some greenery and trees...so watch this space for the next installment
